Teena Marie, the R&B singer is dead at the age of 54

Teena Marie, the R&B singer is dead at the age of 54. Tina Marie, the “Ivory Queen of Soul” who gave us hits like “Lovergirl,” “Square Biz,” and “Fire and Desire” with mentor Rick James, died on Sunday.
Singer Teena Marie died in her sleep and the reason for her death is not confirmed yet. The police and fire department were called to her home after her daughter found her unresponsive. But according to CNN, Marie’s publicist states that she suffered from a grand mal seizure last month.
Teena Marie last tweeted on Christmas day, with one of her final tweets quoting another music legend, Sarah Vaughn:

Hugh Jackman injured on ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show’

Hugh Jackman, the tough Wolverine of the X-Men was slightly injured on Tuesday while performing a stunt during Oprah Winfrey show at the Sydney Opera House.
Jackman slide down a cable from the top of the Sydney Opera House toward a giant outdoor stage, but he failed to hit the brake in time and crashed into the stage’s light rigging resulting in a black eye. More >
Sony appointed Nobel Prize winner Eiichi Negishi as Senior Advisor

Sony appointed Nobel Prize winner Eiichi Negishi as Senior Advisor of the R&D department. Eiichi Negishi is the Japanese co-recipient of this year’s Nobel Prize for chemistry in Sweden.
Eiichi Negishi is the US-based organic chemist, a distinguished professor at Purdue University in Indiana. Mr.Negishi will help Sony reviewing its progress in the research of organic electronics.
“Professor Negishi will also advise on Sony’s medium and long-term research plans, and on methods for nurturing talented researchers,” the company said. More >
