The Human Centipede 2 Full sequence banned in UK
Jun 7th
The Human Centipede 2 Full Sequence is banned of release in UK. The British Board of Film Classification has refused to grant a certificate to the follow-up to 2009′s The Human Centipede
Now America’s movie classification board was under pressure to act today. The British film ratings body ruled Human Centipede 2 (Full Sequence), posed a real risk of harm to viewers, prompting questions as to whether it will be released in the U.S.
At the time of the original film’s release, celebrated film critic Roger Ebert said: ‘I am required to award stars to movies I review.
‘This time, I refuse to do it. The star rating system is unsuited to this film. Is the movie good? Is it bad? Does it matter?
‘It is what it is and occupies a world where the stars don’t shine.’
In the UK, it was given an 18 certificate and was shown in cinemas and film festivals before being released on DVD.
Now the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) has ruled no amount of cuts would allow them to give the new film a certificate and said it may fall foul of the Obscene Publications Act. More >
Apple iCloud: Apple’s new revealation at WWDC
Jun 7th
Apple revealed the iCloud for iPhones, iPads and ipods on Monday at the Worldwide Developers Conference. Apple CEO Steve Jobs called iCloud as their “next big insight.”
The iCloud is Apple’s new wireless data sync service that syncs contacts, calendars, photos, videos and mail across devices.
“iCloud stores your content in the cloud and wirelessly pushes it to all your devices,” says Mr. Steve Jobs.
Previously, users had to copy music files onto their devices.
Jobs described the process, “If I acquire a song, I buy it right on my iPhone, I want to get that to my other devices. I pick up my iPad and it doesn’t have that song on it. So I have to sync my iPhone to my Mac, then I have to sync my other devices to the Mac to get that song.”
“Keeping these devices in sync is driving us crazy,” he said to laughter on Monday.
But now with the iCloud, “uploading” will essentially be unnecessary.
“So now, if I get something on my iPhone, it’s sent up to the cloud immediately. Let’s say I take pictures … and they are now pushed down to my devices … automatically,” Jobs explained. More >
