“Fat Tuesday” or Mardi Gras day or Shrove Tuesday also referred as Pancake Day is the day on which eating a lot of variety food especially pancakes is a custom! A variety of rich food is to be eaten on Tuesday day before the ritual fasting of the Lenten season, which begins on Ash Wednesday. Mardi Gras is associated with the fasting and religious obligations of the penitential season of Lent. There are also practices like wearing masks and costumes, overturning social conventions, dancing, sports competitions and parades.

Mardi Gras celebrations are already in full swing, from Rio to New Orleans to New York. The 24-ounce booze bomb known as the Hurricane named rum-and-fruit juice concoction was invented at a New Orleans restaurant called Pat O’Brien’s in the 1940s, and is about as classic a punch as you’ll find to celebrate Fat Tuesday.
