South California will be the name of proposed 51st State of United States according to Jeff Stone, a Republican on the Riverside County Board of Supervisors. But Los Angeles will not be a part of the South California.
“Los Angeles is purposely excluded because they have the same liberal policies that Sacramento does. The last thing I want to do is create a state that’s a carbon copy of what we have now,” Stone said.

Hollywood A-lister Jake Gyllenhaal get on an adventure Iceland with Bear Grylls, star of “Man vs. Wild”. It is the show’s sixth season which will be airing on Discovery from Monday night. It is an installment titled “Men vs. Wild,” Grylls takes Gyllenhaal to the Icelandic tundra.

Japan Earthquake: After last March’s disaster quake and tsunami along with nuclear crisis another quake of magnitude 7.4 stroked the north eastern Japan on Sunday once again triggering a Tsunami alert. There was no sign of further damage along the coast or to the Fukushima nuclear power plant.
The massive 9.0 earthquake hit March 11th and wreaked havoc on the region including shaking up Japanese nuclear plants and causing cooling system failures and radiation leaks. Thousands had to evacuate the area as plant workers battled to stop the nuclear plants from causing even more damage More >

David Beckham is now father of his first daughter Harper Seven, who is his fourth child. Victoria Beckham has given birth to a baby girl on Sunday at Cedars Sinai hospital in Los Angeles.
Beckham said on Facebook: “I am so proud and excited to announce the birth of our daughter Harper Seven Beckham. She weighed a healthy 7lbs 10oz and arrived at 7.55 this morning, here in LA. Victoria is doing really well and her brothers are delighted to have a baby sister xx.”

Atlantis space shuttle successfully docked with the International Space Station for one last time at 15:07 GMT yesterday. The 12-day mission will bring NASA’s shuttle program to an end.
Two days after its launch from the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, Atlantis became the 37th shuttle to dock with the ISS. Before connecting with the ISS, the Atlantis did the customary back flip to allow station crew to photograph its heat shield. The snaps will be sent to ground controllers to check for any damage.
Atlantis is carrying the Raffaello multipurpose logistics module, loaded with spares and supplies. Pilot Doug Hurley and mission specialist Sandy Magnus will today use the ISS’s Canadarm2 robot limb to shift the module from the shuttle’s cargo bay to the station’s Harmony node. Atlantis is also carrying enough replacement parts to keep the space station operating once the shuttle program is shut down.

The UN observed July 11th as World Population Day every year. The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) began observing this day in 1987. In July 11, 1987 there were five billion populations over this planet. The United Nations declared July 11 of that year “Five Billion Day” to mark the estimated date on which we reached that milestone. The day is recognized to create awareness on the importance of family planning, maternal health, gender equality, poverty, and human rights.
The UNFPA is estimating that around Oct. 31 2011 global population will hit seven billion. That’s a growth of 40 per cent in just over 20 years. The planet’s population has doubled since 1968.

Emma Watson got all emotional and broke down to tears at the world premiere of The Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.This has been the official farewell to the Harry Potter franchise creating emotional moments to the author J.K. Rowling also.
Thousands of fans had camped out in the rain for prime spots at the massive event in the capital’s Trafalgar Square. Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint and Potter creator J.K. South Sudan will be celebrating Independence Day on July 9th 2011. A new country has been identified on the world map. A mood of joy swept through its capital with crowds dancing in the streets and last-minute preparations for Saturday’s ceremony. Processions of ex-veterans, soldiers and civilians, including women’s groups, marched through central Juba in the hot sun, some dressed in traditional clothing, playing drums and dancing.

Atlantis space shuttle launch may be delayed by Weather Conditions on Friday morning. The shuttle launch of Atlantis is the final mission in NASA’s 30 year shuttle program.
According to Canadian astronaut Col. Chris Hadfield from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida there’s a 70 per cent chance of rain or thunderstorms at Cape Canaveral, which could delay the shuttle launch.
The countdown had begun for Scheduled launch time of 11:26 a.m. ET with the fuel tanks full and no technical issues to report till early Friday.
