South California will be the name of proposed 51st State of United States according to Jeff Stone, a Republican on the Riverside County Board of Supervisors. But Los Angeles will not be a part of the South California.

“Los Angeles is purposely excluded because they have the same liberal policies that Sacramento does. The last thing I want to do is create a state that’s a carbon copy of what we have now,” Stone said.

South California would comprise of 13 countries namely San Diego, Orange, Fresno, Imperial, Inyo, Riverside, Kings, Madera, Mono, San Bernardino, Kern, Mariposa, and Tulare with approximately 13 million people.

South California will be more populous than Illinois, Ohio and Pennsylvania. South California would take nearly a third of the population away from California, making the Golden State the second-largest state after Texas.
