ISRO successfully launched Chandrayaan-2

Once again ISRO- Indian Space Research Organisation made the nation proud by successfully launching Chandrayaan-2 , the 2nd moon mission. Lunar mission, Chandrayaan-2, which means “moon vehicle” in Sanskrit, took off from the Satish Dhawan Space Center at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh state at 2:43 p.m., Monday 22nd July 2019.
This lunar mission’s objective is to launch a rover on the south pole of the moon for exploration. NASA and global media congratulated ISRO on the successful launch of Chandrayaan-2 and tweeted that they are looking forward to the findings of India in Lunar south pole. Major US and British news outlets such as The Newyork Times, The Guardian, BBC reported this event extensively. Even our neighbours China and Pakistan’s media and TV network covered the event closely.
This is a complex mission and was supposed to launch on 15th July 2019, but got delayed due to a technical snag. ISRO More >

Memorial day is a way to honor the soldiers , Men and Women who died protecting the United States of America since two decades. Many people visit cemeteries and memorials, particularly to honor those who have died in military service. Many volunteers place an American flag on each grave in national cemeteries.

APJ Abdul Kalam – Last Salute to an Inspiration of India

The body of former President APJ Abdul Kalam, who died in Shillong, was carried to New Delhi by a special aircraft from here, as senior leaders and a host of officials joined in paying tribute to the country’s ‘missile man’.
The body of Kalam was buried in the middle of a 1.5 acre piece of land earmarked for the purpose at Peikarumbu here after being brought from his family mosque where special prayers were offered.
The country’s first bachelor President, Kalam had received several prestigious awards including Bharat Ratna, and played a crucial role when India tested its nuclear weapons at Pokhran in 1998 when the Vajpayee government was in power.

Derek Shepherd died…. Greys Anotomy Shocker!

Greys Anotomy’s Mc Dreamy, the beloved character Dr. Derek Shepherd, was killed off in Thursday’s episode of the ABC drama. The development is particularly surprising because Patrick Dempsey signed a two-year contract extension last year that would have kept him on Grey’s through a 12th season.
The episode that aired on 23rd April, made it clear that Dempsey’s run on the show that made him a worldwide star is definitely over.
Patrick Dempsey, who of course played Derek for the past 11 seasons, released a statement to TVLine following the episode.
“It’s been a remarkable ride. The worldwide impact has been extraordinary. It is incredible how devoted and passionate the fans are and I will forever be grateful and humbled by the experience.”
The show’s creator Shonda Rhimes released a statement following the episode, according to People:
“Derek Shepherd is and will always be an incredibly important character – for Meredith, for me and for the fans. Facebook Timeline Update!

Facebook made its new Timeline pages available to all users, promising to replace its static profile pages with a visual presentation of the story of people’s lives from past to present. With Timeline, Facebook will display in chronological order every photo, friending and status message each user has posted since joining. The privacy settings will be kept intact, but all this content will be far easier to see than before.The feature offers users a visual personal history that is similar to a digital scrapbook. Some have even compared its look to Myspace.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has called Timeline a way to share life experiences. But it could also become useful place for marketers and advertisers to target consumers based on their “likes” and devotion to certain brands as Facebook. More >
