India Census: Population for the new decade is 1.21 billions

The latest India Census shows the major increase in the population of India by 181 million people since 2001 census. Male Population of India is 623.7 million and Female Population 586.5 Million.
India’s population is now 1.21bn, which is bigger than the combined populations of the US, Indonesia, Brazil, Pakistan and Bangladesh. India conducts census once in every 10 years. The census of 2011 is conducted by 2.5 million officials visiting households in about 7,000 towns and 600,000 villages.

National Cherry Blossom Festival 2011

The National Cherry Blossom Festival is a time to celebrate spring. Cherry Blossom Festival returns in timely fashion this weekend as pink buds are already sprouting from tree-lined streets. Festivities will take place around town from March 26th. The official festival begins Saturday when the blossoms will be near peak bloom, according to the festival’s website.
The National Cherry Blossom Festival begins this weekend in Washington, D.C., and organizers are asking people to participate tonight in a walk around the Tidal Basin where the cherry blossoms have been blooming since they arrived as a gift from Japan in 1912.

Earth Hour 2011 is on Saturday 26th March 2011. World is participating in Earth hour for the 5th time. People in thousands of cities worldwide shut off lights for an entire hour at 8:30 p.m. local time on Saturday, March 26, 2011.
Earth Hour is first organized by WWF in 2007 in Australia, with 2.2 million people and 2,000 businesses shutting off their lights for an hour in a stand against climate change. Next year Earth Hour had become a global event with 50 million people participating across the globe, according to Earth Hour’s website. 2010 was the biggest Earth Hour yet, with a record of128 countries and territories participating. Japan reactors from Fukushima nuclear power Plant should be burried like Chernobyl??

World is discussing Japan reactors from Fukushima nuclear power Plant. The cooling of fuel rods is in process. Yesterday authorities attempted to cool the reactors by dropping water from helicopters but unable to control the overheating reactors. Some 330 Fukushima emergency workers were trying to keep the nuclear power plant cooled with seawater, to keep fuel rods from overheating and releasing more radioactive material.

The German and Swiss Embassies have begun to call on their nationals living in the quake-hit regions and the Tokyo metropolitan area to consider evacuating to other nations. Fukushima latest Update

Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant: Fire had broken out Tuesday in the No. 4 reactor followed by hydrogen explosion Tuesday at the plant’s No. 2 reactor. Hydrogen explosions had previously occurred in the plant’s No. 1 and No. 3 reactors.
The radiation levels at the plant increased to about 167 times the average dose, the International Atomic Energy Agency said.
Between 50 and 70 employees in protective gear, were left at the plant to battle problems. Some are assessing the damage and radiation levels caused by the explosions, while others cool stricken reactors with seawater to try to avert a potentially catastrophic release of radiation. More >

Ashley Hebert is a fourth-year dental student of University of Pennsylvania from Madawaska, Maine. Hebert, 26, told Jimmy Kimmel Monday night that she had found closure with Womack: “I think he’s very happy, and I think I’m going to be very happy as well.”

King of Bahrain declared state of Emergency

The king of Bahrain Sheikh Hamad ibn Isa Al Khalifa has declared a state of emergency which will last for three months. The announcement follows weeks of unrest in the kingdom. King “authorized the commander of Bahrain’s defense forces to take all necessary measures to protect the safety of the country and its citizens,” said a statement on television. The order will come into force from Tuesday.
Sectarian clashes broke out in different parts of Bahrain overnight, with both Sunnis and Shi’ites trading accusations that they had been attacked by gangs of youths.
“Forces from the Gulf Cooperation Council have arrived in Bahrain to maintain order and security,” Nabeel al-Hamer, a former information minister tweeted.
Germany announced a temporary Nuclear plant Shutdown

Germany announced a temporary shutdown of 7 nuclear plants. German Chancellor Angela Merkel said that all 7 of the country’s nuclear power plants which began operation before 1980 would be provisionally shut down. The decision comes amid fears sparked by the crisis under way at Japan’s tsunami-stricken nuclear power plant.
A previous government decided a decade ago to shut all 17 German nuclear plants by 2021, but Merkel’s administration last year moved to extend their lives by an average 12 years. That decision was suspended for three months on Monday. More >
