ISRO successfully launched Chandrayaan-2

Once again ISRO- Indian Space Research Organisation made the nation proud by successfully launching Chandrayaan-2 , the 2nd moon mission. Lunar mission, Chandrayaan-2, which means “moon vehicle” in Sanskrit, took off from the Satish Dhawan Space Center at Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh state at 2:43 p.m., Monday 22nd July 2019.
This lunar mission’s objective is to launch a rover on the south pole of the moon for exploration. NASA and global media congratulated ISRO on the successful launch of Chandrayaan-2 and tweeted that they are looking forward to the findings of India in Lunar south pole. Major US and British news outlets such as The Newyork Times, The Guardian, BBC reported this event extensively. Even our neighbours China and Pakistan’s media and TV network covered the event closely.
This is a complex mission and was supposed to launch on 15th July 2019, but got delayed due to a technical snag. ISRO More >

June 21st 2016 Second International Yoga Day. Indian Prime minister Narendra Modi first proposed the International Yoga Day on 21 June as it is the longest day , during his speech at UNGA (United Nations General Assembly). in September 2014.

The counting of votes will begin at 8 am at 989 centres. An army of officials drawn from the central and state governments will first count the postal ballots and then proceed to count the votes collected in 18,78,306 electronic voting machines (EVMs). A three-tier security cover is in place as a total of 13,626 police personnel are being deployed for security duties.

Al Qaeda threat to Guruvayoor Sri Krishna and Sri Padmanabha Swamy temples in Kerala

Guruvayoor Circle Inspector got a letter threatening an attack on the Guruvayoor and Sree Padmanabha Swamy shrines. The letter was posted from Chennai to this pilgrim town Guruvayoor on Wednesday warned of a bomb attack by the Al Qaida on two of Kerala’s most popular temples police said. As soon as the letter arrived, police officials rushed to the famed Sree Krishna Temple in Guruvayoor along with a bomb squad and made a detailed inspection in the temple compound and also in the temple town.
