India vs South Africa: India Won 2nd Test Against South Africa

India Vs South Africa: India won 2nd test match against South Africa by beating south Africa by 87 runs on 4th day of the 2nd test match. South Africa won the toss and Graeme Smith invited Indian team to bat first.Every body thought that by losing toss Mahender Singh Dhoni had lost second test match also thereby losing the series also. The prediction got support when the whole team got out at a low score of 205 due to wet pitch. But Zaheer Khan’s seam bowling taking three wickets and Harbhajan Singh’s magical spell of 10 overs with four wickets brought
India back in the game when they got South African batsmen all out at a meager score of 131 thereby taking a valuable 74 runs lead.

The stylish VVS Laxman’s 96 runs in second innings helped India make 228 runs and putting a target of 303 for South Africa.

When Captain Graeme Smith and Alviro Petersen started aggressively in second innings especially the former, it seemed as if South Africa will easily win this match by making 303 runs.

Smith was quite adamant in punishing Zaheer Khan when he took 21 runs in his first 3 overs. So much so, Captain Dhoni had to remove Zaheer from bowling attack at that moment after that short but costly spell.

Sreesanth took the first wicket of the inning by showing smith the way to pavilion. Before that Sreesanth and  Smith had an heated argument.

South Africa close to losing match were 215 for loss of nine wickets requiring 88 more runs to win the match with only one wicket in hand. Last man to be got run out at ducks and finished innings. Prince remained not out at 39.

India won second test match played at Kingsmead Durban levelling three test match series to 1-1. India has won by 87 runs.
