Red Nose day is meant to be a Fun-Raiser for the children in need around the world. Half of the money raised by Red Nose Day 2016 will be spent in the U.S. The other half will be spent in some of the poorest communities in Latin America, Asia, and Africa. All money raised supports projects that ensure kids are safe, healthy, and educated.

Red Nose Day is a global campaign to raise awareness and money for impoverished children across the world.  According to the Red Nose Day website, “Red Nose Day is the day in the US when people across the land can get together and do something funny for money at home, school, and work.”

Red Nose Day started in UK has extended beyond just the UK and the US– Finland, Germany, and Iceland all have their own Red Nose Days.  The campaign run by Comic Relief, has raised more than $1 billion globally in the last 25 yearsand NBC host a live special featuring celebrity guests, musical performances and knee-slapping comedy.Craig Ferguson hosted the event, featuring Tracy Morgan, Emma Watson, Danny Trejo, Ellie Kemper, Bill Gates, Kobe Bryant, Julia Roberts, Jeff Goldblum, Kate Micucci, Chris Hardwick, David Morrissey, Jon Daly, Dax Shepard Ellen DeGeneres, Jack Black, Paul Rudd, Julianne Moore, Liam Neeson, Sarah Silverman, Keegan-Michael Key, Jordan Peele, Anna Kendrick, Seth Rogen, Zac Efron, Kristen Bell, Ludacris, Rose Byrne, Blake Griffin, Emma Thompson, Chloe Grace Moretz, Steve Buscemi, Adam Devine and Ron Funches.

At some point over the past few months, you’ve probably seen at least one photo of a celebrity in a red clown nose. The effort is all part of Red Nose Day, a global campaign to raise awareness and money for impoverished children across the world. According to the Red Nose Day website,“Red Nose Day is the day in the US when people across the land can get together and do something funny for money at home, school, and work.” Last year, the U.S. raised over $23 million for the Red Nose Day Fund, and tonight, NBC will host a live special, featuring celebrity guests, musical performances and knee-slapping comedy.
